Here's an idea of what you will be doing :

• As a Test Engineer you will have overall responsibility for the design, creation, execution and maintenance of re-usable tests (manual and automated) for a range of front-end user devices (laptops, PCs, mobile form factors, for example, IOS and Android phones) and back end systems.
• Responsible for working effectively with other team members to achieve the company's business objectives as they relate to the development, quality control and release of leading-edge software.
• Reporting into the Test Manager you should consider yourself to be an individual contributor and thought leader on testing.
• You should have a desire to gain experience testing complex web user interfaces and mobile apps (front-end), as well as (back-end) system integration testing.
• You will have experience in the development of automated test scripts, and a successful track record for QA involvement throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• The individual will need practical knowledge and experience with both AGILE and Test Driven development methodologies (TDD) and will be accustomed to a fast-paced development driven environment.
• Must be the UK, based around Hampshire (otherwise relocation is required)

You should recognise yourself here :

• Responsible for analysing product requirements to define acceptance criteria
• Designs creates and maintains re-usable test scripts for both manual and automated tests
• Executes manual and automated testing ensuring results recorded contemporaneously
• Provides estimates on test resources and effort to support prioritization and planning
• Works closely with engineers to ensure timely resolution of issues
• Participates as a testing resource and be an integral part of all releases
• Demonstrates flexibility and understanding to work within tight deadlines
• Contributes to the continuous improvement of test (and other) processes
• Reviews Test Plans with Product Management and Development teams to ensure completeness, coverage etc.

Required Experience

• Must have experience in the development of a broad set of company processes together with the analysis and performance management
• Process-oriented and intimately familiar with modern test technologies including the extensive automation of testing processes for web, mobile app and back-end solutions
• Be able to contribute and direct at all levels of testing including unit, functional, automation, regression, performance, scalability and mobile testing on iOS and Android
• Be able to function as a QA Architect and be able to step in and provide leadership in test design and implementation
• Familiar with all of the test-related aspects of the software development life cycle
• Understand technology that utilizes the Java development stack
• Be familiar with databases, specifically Mongo and SQL
• The ability to follow a formal process while maintaining best practices
• Experience with test automation / development tools, such as Selenium, Cucumber and mobile emulation
• Experience in using Confluence and JIRA
• Some knowledge of programming languages, especially JavaScript, Java and Bash
• Knowledge of mark-up languages, specifically xml
• Experience in writing detailed test plans and conducting test plan reviews
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Clinical Research,Cloud platform testing,Java Software Development,Good Clinical Practice
• Application of systems in support of 21 CFR Part 11 compliance,Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Agile / SCRUM

Qualifications:

Bachelor or greater in Computer Science or other scientific/technical field and/or solid Agile/TDD experience
