Description

Are you a Leader in business development and sales in clinical trials? We have a rapidly growing start up looking to expand their team in the USA, ideally based in RTP but other hubs for clinical research will be considered such as RTP, Boston, Philadelphia or New Jersey. We need a leader who can bring in Sales and look at developing the sales team and operations too. The potential for your career development is really good in this role. 

Ideally you would understand clinical trials and their regulation. In particular ICH GCP and the E6 R2 update.

USA: RTP, Boston, MA, PA, NJ are ideal

The VP of Sales for North America will be responsible for all aspects of the sales process required to achieve sales target for North America.

The VP of sales will be expected to prove themselves in a direct sales role, and have the ambition to want to move into a sales leadership role as the team grows and as competency and loyalty has been proved.

The key functions performed by the VP Sales NA will include, but may not be limited to the following areas:

  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Sells products and services by establishing contact, developing relationships with prospects and accurately positioning solutions to ensure a clear understanding of the value and impact of the solutions.
  • Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and personal involvement in customer executive relationships.
  • Supports identification and recruitment of business development and sales personnel within North America (NA)
  • Develops and manages all business development and sales personnel within NA.
  • Manage, motivate and retain talent as NA sales team builds
  • Contract negotiations with clients and prospects
  • Maintains corporate CRM to a high level of quality to ensure up to date and accurate reporting of all contact information, opportunity status and sales forecast.
  • Provides accurate and justified sales forecast and delivers to that forecast.
  • Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Ensures high quality sales process, adopting and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Participation in company strategy and business planning activities as it relates to sales and related operations

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive successful business development and sales experience selling technology and services within the life sciences industry
  • Track record of achieving and growing revenue targets
  • Leadership skills
  • Experience of Salesforce CRM or similar CRM for contact management, opportunity management and sales forecasting
  • Client focus and senior executive levels
  • Planning and organization skills
  • Excellent knowledge of drug development and approval process
  • Ability to think logically and solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
