Senior Cloud Developer

Our client is a pioneering developer of specialist technology solutions for the global pharmaceutical industry.

We are seeking a talented Senior .NET Developer to join a skilled team bringing experience of best practise in new product development using a Microsoft-based stack.

The role is diverse and will include technical integrations with medical systems and customer software, new product development and development of new functionalities and automations to support our existing platform.

Their SaaS products are used by leading global pharmaceutical companies and research organisations to design Real World Research, capture data, and analyse and share results. The data collected through their platforms is essential in supporting the licenses, reimbursement that bring new medicines to patients.

You would be joining a professional, collaborative and friendly environment working alongside a skilled and motivated team of men and women from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. They pride themselves on their deep knowledge of real world research and the on how they have used this to design and build fit-for-purpose software that really works for their customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a technical lead in a thriving, dynamic environment.

Here's an idea of what you will be doing:

Software development in a Microsoft environment including MS C#, MS SQL Server and MS Cosmos DB and MS Azure

All technical aspects of project delivery including technical analysis, identifying technical risks and solutions

Analyze code problems and delivery process challenges, propose solutions and work closely the product team to make permanent improvements

Write, review and maintain technical specifications

Implement best in class solutions collaborating with the wider technical team to deliver to the highest quality, managing risks and dependencies accordingly

Liaise with customers and suppliers to create integrated solutions between multiple software systems

Lead and develop junior team members on technical approach and review code

Observe best practices in code management

You should recognise yourself here:

Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to overcome technical challenges

Object-oriented development in C#

.Net development frameworks, tools and approaches including: Entity Framework, Active Directory, OWIN, Scaffolding, Swagger, etc.

Understanding the applicability of different .Net approaches

Core technologies including JSON, XML, XSLT, Linq, JQuery etc

Databases - relational (e.g. SQL Server) and / or document based (e.g. MongoDB, Cosmos DB)

Analysis of data structures in preparation for migrations or integrations

Excellent organization skills, able to manage detail

Strong coding and debugging skills

Accurate estimation of the time a piece of work will take and excellent understanding of technical risk

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

You should have the following experience:

Minimum of 7 years of commercial .NET experience

Experience of API integrations with Javsacript frameworks (Vue.js preferred)

Experience and a strong interest in code generation, build automation, continuous integration and Test Driven Development

Beneficial skills:

Front-end development skills; HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, Vue.js, Node.js)

Cloud implementations e.g. MS Azure

Data warehousing, Data lakes

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a computing or mathematical subject. A Masters degree is preferred.
