ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER
(V300/NHS 111 EXP PREFERRED )Position Offered : Advanced Nurse Practitioner /Senior Nurse or paramedic

Reports to: Chief clinical information officer

This solution will help to ease the current relentless pressures and demands faced by General Practice, while providing patients with more timely and easier access 24/7 to healthcare professionals.
Here's how you as an Advanced Practitioner can be part of this exciting Industry:
You will assist in the development of an integrated approach to the delivery of patient care across the 'whole system' of health and social care. You will work in partnership with all relevant stakeholders including Clinical team including non- clinical builders, external reviewers and academic experts, US client delivery team, IT team, Database experts.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners work alongside GPs within the multidisciplinary team, providing input to the development of the symptom assessment algorithms.
There will be a short initial period whilst the clinical understanding of the algorithms is understood and any additional training undertaken and a longer period of training in the tools and algorithm building.
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner you will work on all aspects of the Symptom Assessment including input from internal and external reviewers, governance processes etc.
Activities will include running scenarios and capturing variances, reviewing and recommending changes to assets and logic and working with US and UK reviewers to find agreed solutions to problems with reference to the literature and guidelines.
This role requires deep expertise and experience in diagnosis and clinical risk management.
Along with an understanding of clinical epidemiology and Bayesian logic.
You must be content with undertaking significant amounts of computer based work to identify the issues and to suggest potential solutions.
As the Advanced Nurse Practitioner you must be committed to strong governance, be willing to follow governance processes and understand the importance of accurate record keeping.
You should have excellent understanding of Microsoft tools such as Excel and Word. Be willing to quickly learn with support and training how to use Microsoft Visio and our proprietary tools.
The core clinical tools are Up to Date, NICE content and primary academic papers along with data from the symptom assessments.
Management and Leadership:
*To take clinical and delivery responsibility for themselves and to provide assistance and supervision to other staff as required
*To assist in the maintenance of clinical standards and to share in the efficient running of the service
*To share the responsibility for the security and care of equipment
*To be aware of local, regional, national and global policies which affect the delivery of health and social care
Clinical/Job skills
*To act as a team member providing clinical expertise and ensuring adherence to governance processes required for the symptom assessment algorithms
*Accurately assess input from reviewers to identify issues which require work in the symptom assessments.
*Repeat existing scenarios and traversals agreed with reviewers in previous years to confirm they are still accurate. Inaccurate to collate the data on the inaccuracy and to summarise with a recommendation for change to be made.
*To maintain accurate, contemporaneous computerised records of every part of the process including any dialogue with internal and external decision makers.
*To be aware of and work within the performance framework for the online digital services, Clinical Quality Commission and the National Quality Requirements and any national or international guidelines as appropriate
*To provide clinical support to the multidisciplinary team
Quality Assurance:
*Contribute to and implement initiatives relating to quality assurance and performance management
*Monitor and maintain standards against National & international Quality Requirements, Clinical Quality Commission, and Key Performance Indicators
*Clearly document and ensure all issues are identified and properly raised to the appropriate individuals
Communication:
*Be aware of responsibilities under the Data Protection Act.
*To attend team meetings as required.
*Ensure effective communication takes place within and across teams using face to face, electronic and written communication
*Utilise complex communications skills to negotiate with other healthcare professionals internal and external.
*Utilise advanced listening skills, probing and facilitative skills across a diverse range of interactions, some of which will be highly challenging
Personal and People Development:
*Take part in the annual appraisal process, agreeing and setting own professional and performance objectives
*Receive and deliver clinical supervision in accordance with clients clinical supervision policy
*Identify own professional development needs to maintain professional registration with the NMC
*Facilitate the learning and development of people and teams in accordance with the clients Learning and Development Plan.
*Proactively manage own performance management cycle in accordance with the Performance Management and Personal Development Policy.
*undertake service exploration and development
Research/Audit:
For clinical governance and training purposes, regular review of work is a requirement of this job. With the wider team
The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Qualifications and Training:
Registered Nurse or paramedic with current NMC/HSPC registration.
Evidence of level 3 /MSc Advanced practice.
Evidence of on-going learning
MSc in Advanced Practice or evidence of accumulation of relevant experience / knowledge.
Non-medical prescribing.
V300 qualified or evidence of accumulation of relevant evidence/knowledge
Experience and Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
Paediatric experience.
At least 1 years' experience as an Advanced Practitioner.
Experience in mental health assessment.
