CAD Production Design Engineer (Contract temp to perm)
Pop Scienec is delighetd to team up exclusively with this young, energetic product design and innovation studio that has been set up by their Design and Development platform to focus on commercialising the exciting and disruptive 'Integrated Responsive Furniture Products' that they have been developing over the last few years. We are on the lookout for a CAD Production Design Engineer to join this amazing team.

They are putting these products forward under our new brand so now is an amazing time to get on board. The object is to empower architects and designers to explore new possibilities when designing spaces via the integration of responsive furniture.
As a mechanical design engineer, it is vital that you have a good understanding of materials and engineering, but also how products are made and the manufacturing process.Is this you? Read on!
We are looking for someone that loves problem-solving and has a passion for design and making something from nothing.
You need to be a self-starter, as this position offers both variety and autonomy - never monotony. No one-day is ever the same.Getting a product to market is not easy, so we are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver, persistent and determined.

We are looking for a highly motivated Design Engineer to work closely with their Design Director to finalise the production designs for their responsive furniture product and get the first batch of 25 production prototypes produced to a short time scale
You'll require a good knowledge of volume production design for sheet metal, managing relationships with suppliers and manufacturers throughout the UK and Europe.
You will be working directly with the Design Director and their manufacturers, revising the design of the product to increase the production efficiency.
This position would be suited to someone that has experience sourcing and managing relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, so top interpersonal, communication & organizational skills are essential.
Experience with mechanical sliding systems, gas shock and dampers will be highly valuable.
A good understand of product and furniture design is a distinct advantage.
