SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER (Germany)
Pop Science Are delighted to offer you this vacancy for a SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER based with or client based in Nuremberg .
Their expertise lies in the production and distribution of surgical sutures and collagen products for all surgical disciplines in hospitals and in the private practice setting. leaders in the development of high-end collagens for surgical wound care, and are a recognised partner in scientific research projects.Purpose of Role
- Review market demand and forecast to direct or co-ordinate production planning, scheduling, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service.
- Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs
- Optimise inventory levels and material flow, reduce lead time
- Support the Operations Manager by reviewing capacity data, identifying bottlenecks and suggest solutions / investments
Description of Duties / Tasks
Management- Become a backup; and long term take over all supply chain related activities currently managed by the Operations Manager
- Lead the Purchasing, Planning and Warehouse teams; including training, setting expectations and holding team members accountable,
- Execute the business plan objectives by working proactively with the management team
- Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the purchase-to-pay process and the performance to meet customer demand
- Develop and communicate material management policies, procedures and internal controls in line with the Medical Device Regulations', Customs and internal quality standards' requirements
- Report to local and Group managers about actual performance and improvement plans
- Ensure that all transactions are kept current, recorded accurately and processed efficiently
- Ensure that all transactions are representative of the reality of the business and that any estimates are made with consistently applied, business-reasonable rationale
- Oversee the purchasing, shipping, logistics, receiving and material handling of the organization
- Conduct investigations to determine causes of material management related incidents and to improve safety procedures chain activities.
- Implement new or improved supply chain processes
- Document physical supply chain processes such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities or system flows
- Design or implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products
- Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or product .
Skills and Qualifications
- Customer service oriented person
- Advanced experience in a supervisory or management position
- Ability to analyse and communicate complex business processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
- Possess excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Possess excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Flexible, adaptable and ability to multitask
- Positive and co-operative team player
- Possess successful leadership experience, including skills in coaching and training
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and manage priorities
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Manufacturing industry experience an asset
- Multi site / international organization experience is beneficial
- English language skills are a must - written and verbal
