We have a great role for a Financial Controller for a growing clinical research company based in Chelsea. As this is a smaller company, the role is very varied from working with the board to invoice admin.
The Finance Controller will be responsible for providing strategic advice, executing and capacity building to support the establishment and ongoing maintenance of accounting, finance and other relevant enterprise operations for our client. The job holder will also be responsible for supporting the CFO and Director in ensuring compliance with all legal and financial aspects.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Run the day to day activities of the finance department
- Prepare monthly management accounts and quarterly VAT returns
- Supervise day to day operations and oversee bank and control account reconciliations

Oversee year-end balance sheet audit schedules, including Fixed assets, bank, debtors, creditors and provisions

Review existing accounting records, systems & processes?

Document audit requirements and perform internal audit(s); Liaise with auditors on the statutory audit

Design target operating model for finance function based on industry best practices and relevant benchmarking data and facilitate management discussions on financial aspects of the company

Build / revise business plan (financial model - budgets & projections)
- Prepare management reporting package
- Prepare annual tax computations and tax return
- Submit tax declaration and prepare provisional tax assessment
- Advise on and document enterprise compliance requirements
- Stand up enterprise compliance function
- Document functional-level processes and policies
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 2-5 years' experience as a Financial Controller
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in managing Finance department
- Advance computer literacy and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral English)
- Proven ability to develop and update working practices
- Flexible and effective project management, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Ideally CRO/ life science/ health care experience
