- Description
The Sales Account Executive will be responsible for the identification, qualification, and development of new sales opportunities and new customer accounts. They may also take full or partial responsibility for existing accounts.
The role will be a pivotal function in the Sales team, and will involve working closely with the Marketing, Contracts, Finance, and Operations teams in order to strengthen and accelerate the pipeline of new business.
The key functions performed by the Sales Account Executive will include, but may not be limited to the following areas:
Key Responsibilities
- Profile accounts to determine fit with clinet's value proposition and solutions.
- Identify and contact key personnel within target accounts, including email, social media, and telephone.
- Qualify target accounts by engaging with key personnel to understand their current position, capabilities and needs.
- Map client's solutions to target accounts needs.
- Produce budgets, proposals, and work orders (from templates)
- Capture contacts, opportunities, and activities in clients CRM system to ensure regular and accurate status reporting.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through confident, valuable, and professional communications with account personnel.
- Work closely with Marketing department to understand and promote client's marketing messages.
- Work with Marketing to ensure all leads produced are quickly and effectively followed up with to ensure no loss of momentum.
- Support Sales and Marketing as needed through participation in sales events and meetings.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of business development, selling technology and services within the life sciences industry
- Track record of lead generation and account development.
- Track record of achieving and exceeding business development targets.
- Experience of Salesforce CRM or similar CRM for contact management, opportunity management and activity management.
- Able to work as part of a small team.
- Able to work and think independently.
- Able to travel within UK and globally.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.
- Knowledge of drug development and approval process.
- Ability to think logically and solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Personal Specification
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Min 3 years sales to life sciences industry.
- Over performance against plan and track record.
