- Description
We are looking for a Chief Technology and Product Officer to lead and manage the technical function (Product, Development, Infrastructure and Test Teams and associated resources) of our client in life science technology. They specialise in risk based quality management software for clinical trials which makes a huge difference to the safety and data quality of studies and for patients.
Our ideal candidate will have a pragmatic approach with strong ability to deliver ideally gained in scaling small/ medium sized enterprise technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- To oversee and manage security and performance of the SaaS
- To oversee and manage 3rd party technology, 3rd party technology licences and technology vendors
- To propose and manage Budgets for Technology, Product & Test Teams and Technology Spend Projects
- To Manage spend within agreed Budgets for each Team and the Technology Spend Projects Responsible
- Work with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to define the Vision for the technical function in alignment with Corporate Strategy, and set out short-, mid- and long-term goals - Define the Technology and Development Strategies that set out the role of the technical function in alignment with Corporate Strategy
- Deliver against the agreed Technology, Product and Development Strategies
Define and implement secure SDLC processes and manage process improvement to enhance security and delivery
Skills & Qualifications - does this sound like you?
- The technical understanding required to lead the technology function of a SaaS business
- Business sense - a sound understanding of how a SaaS business functions, the challenges it faces, the risks which need to be managed, and the solutions needed to mitigate the risks and overcome the challenges
- Ability to manage costs and deliver vs Budget
- Experience of growing small SaaS businesses
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to conduct research, specifically around business needs and solutions
- Decision making skills
- Strategic thinking - the ability to focus on the bigger picture of the organization and/or project goals
- Time management - Ability to setup tasks follow timelines and meet deadlines
- Ability and desire to roll sleeves up
- Ability to employ strong technical resources (subject to availability of budget), including defining roles/job descriptions and assessing prospective candidates to ensure they are the right fit and have appropriate skills for the roles
