Description

Our client is an exciting and innoating HealthTech company looking for for a User Experience Designer to help deliver impactful experiences that truly empower patients to manage their health conditions and improve their quality of life.

Healthcare is changing and the products you develop will redefine how patients receive treatment. This is a very exciting project if you enjoy creating products for patients including patient apps. We need someone who wants to work to build a product that will comply with regulations such as SaMD Software as a Medical Device ISO13485.

You'll be working on some of our most challenging and high-impact UX problems, developing and executing research initiatives to support concept development. You will do this through understanding problems faced by the intended users as well as by being a vital part of the development of design solutions .

You will represent the voice of the customers; through contributing to regular cycles of user testing and working with our cross-disciplinary team of user researchers, user interface designers, product managers and software engineers to develop new product designs.

You will be working in a start-up environment to deliver combination drug and software-based medical devices, which means you will be working within set processes to ensure final outputs are safe and effective.

We want products to generate better health outcomes for patients, so we're keen to develop a deep understanding of the domain and identify existing issues and how they could be addressed. Great design is at the heart of this challenge. We're interested in finding a UX specialist that can help keep patient outcomes at the heart of everything we do.

The team at our client is really strong. This a great chance to work with thought leaders in medical research, product and UX. Their office is in Kings Cross, so you will need to be flexible with some travel there around 10 days/ month for user groups, team meetings

What you'll do:

Develop a deep understanding of healthcare delivery, our business, the product, the company objectives, our customers and our competitors.

Conceive and develop user journeys and UX designs that are both usable and engaging.

Conduct user research, apply different research methodologies as needed, and synthesise data into meaningful actionable insights and influence the development of our products.

Gather information to articulate a holistic view of our users and their behaviour and support the translation of this information into models

Advocate user needs and help foster a design culture based on evidence and insights from user research.

Contribute to user interface design and report on progress

Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to deliver working software.

Work within a medical regulated environment, understand how this impacts the R&D process and apply the necessary tasks to meet regulatory requirements.

Actively participate in the research and design culture of the organisation by sharing thought leadership and building effective processes and organisational research capabilities.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience working in a UX capacity, influencing the development of software products in healthcare or a similarly complex industry.

A strong portfolio demonstrating UX research and design examples that have delivered insight and helped to shape the design and success of released products in the marketplace.

Experience delivering research studies involving challenging problems and examples of different methodologies used (e.g. ethnography, user interviews, focus groups, co-design workshops, usability testing, competitor analysis, literature review).

Excellent analytical skills. The ability to gather and process qualitative data, synthesise it into simple actionable insights and help the team execute on findings.

Experience advocating for the user through effectively communicating research findings to contribute to product strategy and design.

Proficiency in development tools such as Miro, Sketch, Adobe CC, Figma and dev tools like Confluence and Jira.

Proven experience of mobile app design, including design patterns on iOS and Android (material design).

Proficiency creating wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes for iterative design processes.

Lean attitude

Great presentation skills - comfort working directly with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Desirable but not mandatory:

Medical experience or experience operating in a highly regulated industry (e.g. finance)

Prior experience of designing software as a medical device.
