Dev Ops MS Azure
Our client is a pioneering developer of specialist technology solutions for the global pharmaceutical industry.

The role would particularly suit someone experienced in MS Azure, systems and networks who wants to enhance their skills with development activities.

We are seeking talented DevOps candidates to work as part of the product development team designing and implementing automations, Azure infrastructure and services and integrating them with internal business systems and processes.

As part of this role, you will set up and optimize the hosting environments, build automation and reporting tools and develop strategies for performance and data analytics.

Being part of a wider technical team, you will work closely with developers to identify areas for improvement, proposing and implementing strategies for resolution, whether that be supporting architecture, automation via tools and services, or bespoke developments.

The role will initially be very focused on the Azure environment and will later branch out into other hands-on development activities as part of the wider team.

Their SaaS products are used by leading global pharmaceutical companies and research organisations to design Real World Research, capture data, and analyse and share results.

Here's an idea of what you will be doing :

  • Design and implement Azure environments, including virtual machines and services, for
  • development and hosting and ensure these environments can be monitored and reported on
  • through automated processes by non-technical team members
  • Ensure environment meets industry security regulations ensuring best practise adopted at all
  • times
  • Work with the product design team to optimise the use of the Azure platform and services in line
  • with the product development strategy
  • Improve efficiencies in software development and deployment through automation, integrations
  • and reporting, making best use of software tools and architecture
  • Integrate data across various business processes including external databases, Office 365 and
  • SharePoint
  • Develop labour saving tools and automations to boost development productivity
  • Performance testing systems and applications

Your core skills will include:

  • Deep understanding of and experience in Microsoft Azure platform including proven experience in
  • building and configuring Azure environments
  • Security standards and industry Best Practice
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise software products and services
  • Development background - able to program in a structure programming language such as C#
  • Knowledge of DevOps technologies and processes relating to cloud solutions, automation and
  • configuration management
  • Databases - relational (e.g. SQL Server) and / or document based (e.g. MongoDB, CosmosDB)
  • Software installation, configuration and management e.g. SQL Server, source code management
  • tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, SVN
  • Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery planning
  • Agile and Test-Driven Development methodologies
  • Managing build and continuous integration tools
  • Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure; TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, IIS

The successful candidate will hold a 1st Class or 2:1 degree level or equivalent in a computing or mathematical subject. Microsoft certification ideal.
