Description

Pop Science is delighted to offer this office based opportunity for a Senior Biostatistician to join an exciting organisation in Central London. As well as being expert in Statistics, you will have the opportunity to train, mentor and support other members of the statistics and SAS programming team. This is a long term contract postion.


The organisation focus is within Haematology and Cardiovascular projects and currently they have new studies in start-up phase and existing projects include high profile large cardiovascular registry studies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead appropriate approaches, data management, analytical methods to meet study objectives
  • Ensure appropriate observational data from a large database
  • Lead the data preparation, management and analysis
  • Work with SAS programming to lead their production of tables, listings, statistics, and graphs for analysis
  • Lead and develop approaches to analyse a novel dataset
  • Provide study results in format required for internal use or external publications
  • Lead the writing of study proposals, including statistical analysis sections
  • Write SAPs, specify table shells and figures as required
  • Coach, mentor and develop other members of the statistics and SAS programming team
  • Lead the liaison with clients and other departments
  • Attending events, statistical contributions to publications



Skills

  • Expert in Statistics around Real World Evidence, large observational healthcare datasets
  • Strong experience within an epidemiological, health economics or outcomes research group
  • Expert in working with large data sets
  • Proven experience in leading SAS programming teams
  • PhD in Medical Statistics or similar is essential
  • Statistical methods: survival analysis, time-dependent Cox model, multiple imputation, logistic regression, Poisson regression, models for count data, smoothing techniques
  • Leading, mentoring and developing statistics and SAS programming teams
