Job Description
Objective of the role: The Director, Data partnerships & strategy, will drive the delivery of access to novel first party data sources to power our leading product platforms. The role holder will prioritise the most important data initiatives, innovate on how data is being sourced and execute from identification to contracting whilst not afraid to get their hands dirty sourcing tactically important data supplies as needed. The role holder will work with clients talented data and technology teams on translating the innovation into operational processes and will be reporting to the Chief Product Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the central hub in collating and prioritising new, high value data sets required to power our portfolio.
- Work across product squads to support specific definition of data points and scope required.
- Identify, build relationships, negotiate and contract access to strategically important first party data sets.
- Own innovation in the creation of novel and unique first party data assets e.g. contributory data models, win:win supplier relationships, primary research.
- Support sales in securing relevant data supply from customers in the sales cycle.
- Keep up to date on existing and emerging data trends and recommend innovative approaches to data orchestration.
- Working with data and technology teams to set a plan for operationalising new, strategic data sources.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience of securing access to high value proprietary/first party datasets from outreach to contract close.
- Expertise in leading complex, multi-party data sharing conversations and an understanding of the key elements of a successful program.
- Experience in developing multi-sided data relationships e.g. contributory databases, in a B2B setting.
- Knowledge of life science data and familiarity with key data concepts e.g. vocabularies, ontologies, data models, with a technical data architecture understanding a positive.
- Creative, entrepreneurial, market facing and driven individual.
- Awareness of data acquisition and processing operating models to inform.
- Market facing and business development expertise.
- Life Sciences degree, masters or PhD.
