We have an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced and passionate start-up with an ambition to create a next generation healthcare company. Our client is a global leader in the development of single prescription drug plus digital therapy (DTx) combination products, developed to optimise dosing on an individual level with linked behaviour therapy, aiming to improve patient outcomes.
Having completed a successful Series A, our client is entering an exciting phase of growth and expansion. We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for innovation in healthcare to join our dedicated team.
In this role, you will drive the development and execution of internal and external communications strategy with close alignment with our strategic objectives. Reporting to the Commercial VP, you will be required to work closely with the executive and leadership teams to develop the brand identity and extend their visibility with external stakeholders within the pharmaceutical and digital health space. You will use your extensive network to communicate our value proposition to these key stakeholders using a variety of media channels.
You will be responsible for developing content for all our communications, both internal and external, including press releases, messages and talking points, media materials and other company announcements. You will also develop and deliver meaningful Public Affairs campaigns of high impact.
The role will also be responsible for building high quality and trusted relationships with multiple patient advocacy groups, ensuring we continue to embed the patient perspective throughout our product lifecycle. The role will be primarily focused on the UK and US markets but will include other key global markets in the future.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement the corporate communications strategy
- Shape CLM's brand identity, visibility and engagement with key audiences
- Create, improve and manage CLM's multimedia assets
- Define guidance and processes for internal stakeholders
- Proactively drive business outcomes by identifying and applying key metrics to our communications activities to provide valued insights
- Develop content, including messages, media materials, press releases and other company announcements or communications
- Lead and develop our internal communications to drive our values and employee engagement throughout the organisation
- Lead the development and delivery of specific Public Affairs campaigns
- Develop links and trusted relationships with patient advocacy groups in all relevant markets to embed patient insights systematically throughout product lifecycle
- Ensure high levels of compliance with company values and ABPI code, working with respect and transparency in all patient group engagement and communications activities
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Training and Experience
- Strong professional experience within communications, public relations and or public affairs roles at either a biotech/pharmaceutical company or an agency working with biotech/pharmaceutical clients
- Bachelor/Masters or equivalent
- Excellent creative writing skills across different channels
- Deep knowledge of the healthcare and digital health environment
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes
- Extensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry including patient advocacy, regulatory and reimbursement environment
- Experience in key global markets outside of the UK such as EU5 + North America is preferable
- Experience in managing external vendors and partners
Experience working within multi-stakeholder platforms
- Strong knowledge of the ABPI code of practice and a high-level understanding of the code in other relevant regions and markets
- Ability to work well under pressure and succeed in a rapidly changing, often unpredictable environment with multiple competing priorities
- Experience in crisis management
