Are you a Business Development Director, Manager or Sales Leader with a background in Pharma Brand and Product looking for a rapidly expanding, innovative company to work for? You can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as you are prepared to travel to meet clients as needed.
Our client is an innovative digital health company that creates genuine efficiencies by connecting and automating the delivery of cutting-edge therapies through their doctor designed platform. Their technology connects patients, doctors, labs and other vendors, creating real-time integration and visibility across the patient journey, speeding up time to therapy and improving patient safety. They create unrivaled, real-time insights from complex program data.
The Business Development Manager or Director for the UK will be a key member of the Global Sales team, based in the UK that will drive new business development as well as provide account management and customer service. This role is responsible for driving successful top line growth. The role can have scope to grow sales in Europe too.
This individual will leverage their experience building, scaling, and leading technology-enabled commercial organisations as the company rapidly doubles in size.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate leads; identify potential customers and work all available channels to secure an initial presentation to the potential customer.
- Represent company at external conferences, including possibly manning a booth.
- Represent company during business meetings, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings.
- Consult with potential customers to understand their needs; identify and suggest equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
- Resolve customer concerns and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
- Manage and maintain our CRM (Salesforce).
- Refine and implement go-to-market and sales operations best practices and processes that will enable continued scaling and selling discipline and the achievement of targets
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues on the identification of new insights that can inform new packaging strategies, buying triggers or opportunities to increase the overall wallet share of an account
- Lead account planning initiatives that align buying triggers with client initiatives and creates a systematised approach to develop short and long-term opportunities
- Ensures a highly disciplined approach to managing pipeline, forecasting and the ongoing identification of barriers to conversion or opportunities to increase sales velocity
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Proven track record of contributing to a high-performing sales team
- Member of a sales organisation with a history of meeting or exceeding annual quotas
- Proven ability to perform within the principals of solution selling principals and can coach team members accordingly
- Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to leverage sophisticated selling techniques
- Operational Excellence
- Passionate about selling metrics and a demonstrated history of using data to support funnel building approaches and to improve conversion rates
- Experience implementing and optimizing systems and processes as part of driving scale
- History of effectively driving continuous improvement
- Demonstrated fluency in understanding financial data, particularly around forecasting, revenue recognition and contracting
- Communication & Relationship Building Skills
- Highly skilled communicator with the ability to motivate teams while articulating a clear vision for how we will win together
- Strong skills in communicating robust value propositions to buyers and linking capability with value and trigger
- Data driven communicator and ability to synthesize issues quickly
- Ability to provide constructive feedback in a direct and crisp manner such that change can be effectuated
- Domain Expertise
- Experience being a part of sales teams providing cloud-based software solutions or data driven products; adept at understanding how selling styles pivot across personas
- Experience selling SaaS software and/or data to the pharmaceutical industry
- Existing networks and contacts in the broader pharmaceutical community with which to sell the Company's value proposition will be highly regarded
EDUCATION
Bachelors required as this involves selling into brand and product leads in commercial teams in pharma and other clinical leads
Travel
Must be able to travel as required once the world opens back up.
