- Description
We are looking for an experienced, progressive and hands-on VP People to join our client's Leadership Team.
You will have overall responsibility for leading our People strategy and practices, inputting into the overall company leadership from a people perspective by implementing and embedding people initiatives and ensuring that the organisation's culture is aligned to our company strategic goals.
The role requires the ability to strike a balance between having one eye on the aspirational - setting the vision for talent across the business with the gravitas and confidence to influence senior stakeholders; and one eye on the operational - embedding the right policies and processes to drive high performance.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- To act, and be seen as, a trusted strategic advisor to develop and embed our people initiatives.
- Shape and lead a clear People plan, developing short and long term plans and optimising organisational design to achieve our strategic goals and objectives
- Own the employee experience by coaching managers to hire, inspire, develop and retain our talented employees
- Lead and implement change management, compensation, retention engagement, talent assessments and performance management, partnering and coaching managers through the stages of transition
- Drive and maintain a high performance culture by delivering people initiatives which recognise and reward critical skills, behaviours, capabilities, experience and performance
- Assess organisational effectiveness and ensure that the organisation is appropriately designed to deliver maximum impact against short and long term objectives
- Develop a talent acquisition and management strategy to ensure that we have the right resource, capability and talent to achieve our immediate and strategic ambitions now and in the future
- Develop and embed employee engagement plans and initiatives to strengthen the connection and commitment our people have with their work, colleagues and the organisation
- Effectively manage all employee relations issues, providing advice, coaching and support to managers to ensure individual and collective relationships are managed appropriate and underpinned by organisation culture, policies, processes and, ultimately, relevant employment law
- Engage with employees regularly to become an expert of our people and the way they work
- Assess and ensure that all compensation and benefits packages are market relevant, attractive whilst cost effective
- Ensure all people procedures and processes comply with regulatory requirements and best practices
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Previous experience as People Partner or VP People at a business which has scaled rapidly both in headcount and revenue
- A strategic people-leader with proven HR generalist experience, who is able to be proactive, think ahead and future-proof an organisation for scale
- Excellent problem solving, commercial and analytical skills to understand the needs of our business and implement simple solutions that are scalable
- Exceptional communication skills encompassing challenging conversations, coaching leaders and communicating initiatives across teams
- Impeccable judgement to identify and address individual and structural issues before they impact company performance
- Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with leaders that improve the impact of their teams
- Demonstrable experience of designing and delivering successful people programmes focused on team performance, manager capability and operational effectiveness
- Experience in leading team scale up outside of the UK/ globally. A critical part of growth will be global growth, starting with US teams.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience working in tech companies (SaaS, Enterprise Software, MedTech, Fintech) is strongly preferred.
