Description

We have a great role heading up a Software Development and DevOps team at a rapidly growing life science technology company. This role is based in the UK, but remote home working is accepted

You should have strong leadership skills, including managing offshore service providers as well as your inhouse Agile technical teams.

The role leads our client's software development department. Responsible for the design, development and validation of eClinical solutions developed by the offshore and inhouse teams. You will report to CEO with line reports into your role being the Infrastructure Engineer (incl. DevOps), Software Developer and Software Testers

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • eClinical Technology Development & Deployment
  • Software Development Life Cycle Management
  • Software Validation & Testing
  • Responsible for updating own training records and CV on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for ensuring data security/ protection in line with policy and escalating any issues or improvements to the quality management team
  • Responsible for learning and applying company working practices and relevant regulations to their own working practice and escalating any issues or improvements to the quality management team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or greater in Computer Science or other scientific/technical field Required
  • Experience in management of distributed software development teams Management of Business Critical Hosting Infrastructure Experience of working in a regulated industry
  • Experience of developing quality management procedures around SDLC Agile (XP, SCRUM, OpenUP) 5+ years Java development experience Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
  • Work effectively within a team Agile Development Methodologies SCRUM, TDD, XP etc.
  • Strong understanding of CDISC Standards

Desirable Experience

  • JAVA/JEE (JPA, JSF, JMS, JMX, JTA, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Eclipse RCP, XML, Tapestry)
  • RDBMS/SQL (Oracle, DB2 MySQL)
  • Ajax Web Technologies (GWT, JQuery, JSON)
  • NoSQL Databases (Mongo, ObjectStore)
  • Groovy, Python, JavaScript OS X, Linux, Windows Exposure to Cloud Computing environments such as EC2 and Cloud Stack
