We are looking for an exceptional Lead Backend Engineer to help build and maintain our clients award-winning patient data capture platform, as well as leading and mentoring a team of Backend Engineers. Our client are offering the opportunity to be a key member of the team focusing on the backend services to ensure high performance and responsiveness. Our client requires a proactive and driven individual to take responsibility for leading and mentoring the team through key projects and ensure robust design and delivery of new functionality.

Our client has a market leading data capture platform for clinical trials, that patients love to use. Based in London, UK, but remote working is also permitted, you should be interested in global work as their product reaches patients all around the world. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide Team Leadership and line management functions.
• Work with solutions architects to design scalable, reusable services.
• Optimise the applications for robustness and scalability.
• Implement security by default in every aspect of engineering.
• Provide services for user-facing elements developed by Front-end Developers.
• Design and implement appropriate data storage solutions.
• Work with DevOps to ensure implementations are kept up to date with the latest cloud trends.

Essential Requirements:

• AWS (ECS, Fargate)

Commercial knowledge or recent usage of:

• GoLang
• Serverless (AWS Lambda)
