We have a great role for a Business Developer who is interested in working in a Clinical Research Organisation, ideally with a background in Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and understanding clinical data management and statistics. We can consider candidates who have strong inside sales experience, looking to take the next career steps too. We can also look at candidates with clinical trials operational backgrounds, who want to move into business development. A proven sales background and strong contact network is preferred.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for performing all the activities that are adequate to grow the business of our client including cold calling, client and vendor management, preparation, conduct and follow-up of conference attendance and exhibition, events, company presentations, quotations, budget proposals and bid defence meetings. You will also need to be able to work professionally at all times and have a proven ability to build rapport with clients and other team members, to support high quality delivery of bids and proposals.
Job Outline:
- To identify, contact and visit potential clients and partners within
- the assigned territories.
- To communicate regularly and network with client representatives
- and key industry people.
- To communicate with vendors and other third parties deemed
- necessary and appropriate to work with in order to support with
- their selection.
- To pick up requests for information (RFI) and requests for
- proposal (RFP).
- To review company presentation slide sets.
- To present/ moderate/ facilitate at bid defence meetings and other
- company presentations.
- To achieve for and negotiate confidentiality agreements, master
- service agreements, and contracts or service orders with clients,
- partners and vendors.
- To collaborate with and hand over new projects to project
- managers.
- To promote strategic selling concepts.
- To attend and exhibit at conferences.
- To manage events in collaboration with
- event management partners.
- To follow up on industry news, market conditions, client's financial status and technology changes.
Professional Background and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalen
- Strong previous experience in business development in the Life Sciences field or in lead generation or clinical trials operations, with the competencies listed below
