Description

Have you got a background in project finance from Clinical Research or Life Science technology and want to use your learnings to help with value engineering and project reporting? We've got a great role for you with our client who specialise in digital solutions around brain health.

Our clients need a strong project / operations finance lead to help innovate and develop pricing, budget reporting and project reporting for their services and their cutting-edge technologies. The Analyst will provide the support our customers need and enhance the client's service offering. Good customer service skills are critical too.

Purpose of the Role:

Analyse, synthesize, and report on information provided across operational and business development teams. Provide business intelligence reports and forecasts that facilitate operational and executive team decision making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Own the client proposal pricing tool. Be responsible for its ongoing development and work with Business Development and the wider Operations team to ensure it reflects the requirements of the business and its clients.
    Support the Project Office in the assessment of Customer project proposals and expected bookings, forecasting their associated gross margins and operational resource requirements including clear handover of these expectations to the Project Management team when the Customers projects are contracted.
    Loading project budgets / change orders into the project management model ensuring:

 

Project assumptions documented.

Financial accounting requirements are considered.

Direct project costs, such as licensing costs, are captured.

    Attend monthly project review meetings to report on and understand project status, potential issues and the accuracy of the forecasts and support project managers in understanding variances to expectation over their project revenues and gross margin achievements.
    Report against agreed KPIs and on the status of client projects across the Company. Prepare, reconcile, analyse, and report project revenue, both actuals and forecast and comparisons to budget on a regular basis and ad-hoc as and when required. Support the definition of actions arising from progress against KPIs and project initiatives.
    Set up new operational staff on timesheets, provide them with the relevant training and/or SOPs to ensure their completion and develop reports to support capacity utilisation analysis.
    Monitor overall project budgets against contracted revenues and highlight areas of expected under-utilisation of budgets and work with project managers to propose actions to utilise these budgets. Help develop understanding as to whether projects have been over or under specified at the proposal stage with a purpose to informing the pricing model.
    Support the Project Office in mapping Project Office work processes, dependencies, and outputs to support a wider initiative of continuous improvement across the Company.
    Provide support to other members of Finance, Operations, Business Development, and the broader business as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:

Accounting & IT skills:

      Accounting qualification

Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft office products including advanced Excel skills

Good commercial knowledge and awareness

Profile:

      Self-Starter - proactive, ability to work independently

Driven to succeed in a complex but rapidly growing business

Attention to detail, accuracy, organisational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Ability to stay focused, prioritise and deliver

Excellent stakeholder management skills
