A great opportunity for a Senior Medical Writer with Project Management and leadership skills to join an academic research team in Central/West London.
Our client is internationally renowned for pioneering, multi-disciplinary research into cardiovascular disease. The Senior Medical Writer, Team Lead will, under the direction of the Principal Medical Writer, be leading a dedicated team of writers producing science publications such as abstracts, posters, manuscripts and a wide range of other medical communications.
In this office based role, you will lead the development of high-quality, medically accurate documents, addressing different target audiences. Additionally you will will assist the Principal Medical Writer with strategic publication planning and meetings support.
Key Responsibilities- Lead editorial projects, facilitating their progress through multidisciplinary project teams to ensure within-budget, on-time, and on-strategy performance
- Understand and build an increasing knowledge of the science/medicine of thrombosis to the degree required for effective communication with internal team members, clients, authors, and target audiences
- Coach, mentor and develop other members of the Medical Writing team
- Conduct searches of the published medical literature and other sources of medical, marketing, and drug development information as directed by our client
- Track congress submission deadlines and maintain timelines for the development of abstracts and Congress materials
- Maintain publication plans for various international studies
Requirements- 4-5 years Medical Writing experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a communications agency
- Advanced Scientific or clinical degree
- Proven project Management experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team
- Occasional travel, including international travel, is required
- Experience in mentoring and leading fellow team members
- Office-based role
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a writing test.
